Simple Potato Gnocchi | Everyday Food with Sarah Carey (VIDEO)
Remember a couple weeks ago when I showed you how to make Gnocchi with Quick Meat Sauce? That recipe called for store-bought gnocchi, but it’s actually something you can make yourself pretty easily at home. It’s true! It helps if you have a ricer, but you can also use a food mill or a regular old box grater.

I’ll show you how to knead the dough (and when to stop), then how to set up and shape the gnocchi using the tines of a fork (it’s pretty cool). Plus, there’s a super-easy way to know when the gnocchi are cooked.

Instead of creating the "classic" design with the fork, I flour my finger and press a tiny bit into the gnocchi, creating a sort of pillow. After cooking in boiling water, I transfer the gnocchi to a hot pan with butter and lightly fry until golden brown on each side.
can i make this using a bosch mixer?
I bought a pack of premade gnocchi and cooked it to the directions but I found they made out heavy and gummy. I don't know if it was just because of the recipe of the packaged gnocchi or that I under or over cooked them. 😞 Anyway but I am going to try again making them hand made with this recipe.
