RECIPE
Serves 3 | Calories 361 | Fat 16g | Protein 27g | Carbs 85g |
Sugar 2g | Sodium 545mg
4 Rashes of Bacon
1 Egg
1 Egg Yolk
1/3 Cup Grated Parmesan Cheese
Cracked Black Pepper
10.5oz | 300g Spaghetti
1 Tablespoon Cream
1 Tablespoon Chopped Italian Parsley
Cut the bacon into thin slices. Place a heavy bottomed pan like a cast iron skillet onto medium heat with a splash of olive oil. Cook the bacon over medium heat until browned and crispy. Using a fork mix together the egg, egg yolk, parmesan cheese and black pepper until well combined. Cook the pasta in boiling water until al dente. Before draining the pasta reserve a cup of the cooking water. Turn the heat off the bacon and add the pasta along with half of the cooking water. Toss together and pour in the sauce. Toss well until the sauce has thickened and coats the pasta. Lastly pour in a small amount of cream and add the chopped parsley. Serve in a bowl.
why do you cook this dish with pasley and cream? In carbonara we have not pasley and cream and put pasley and cream on dishes it's absoluely not italian 🙂

Spiggeddy carbonara with frish iggs mate
I know this is two years too late but…I made this for breakfast today and…O M G ! I Can't think anything better!!!
Yeh traditionally it's made with guancialle not with pancetta. Quick hint to make me stop watching this video.
Let's Say this once for all: in the carbonara you don't have to put milk, or cream.
No cream in the carbonara recipe, nice try😅
ok, but the cream and italian parsley you add are not in the carbonara recipe and you're going far from the original taste you have to acquire …. the "parmesan" cheese you add obviously is not pecorino or "parmigiano reggiano" or "grana padano" we use and you can recognise this at 3.47 because it's not blended with the eggs… differently from the cheese we use that give that sense… also, if you are going to give the best flavour to your dish you might use "guanciale" instead of "bacon" 😉 bye
Another classic bastardized… According to Italian chef Antonio Carluccio, the British and Americans have been ruining Carbonara Ever wondered how to make the traditional carbonara sauce without all that nasty cream and fake sauce? Italians never use cream, milk or any such thing in their carbonara! exact sequence and original ingredients used to make this amazing spaghetti dish. In Rome we use two types of pasta with carbonara; rigatoni or spaghetti. They are both delicious swith this sauce. Ingredients to use for 2 people: – 90/100 gr of Guanciale or Pancetta – 3 Eggs – 80 gr Pecorino Romano (cheese) – 1/2 tsp Black Pepper – 1/2 tsp Salt – 200 gr Spaghetti So simple! Isn't it? Parmesan cheese is insult to ROMAN People.
you are a too good cook but please make some recipes for vegetarian people sorry if you feel bad
Just to be the whiny Italian 😂, proper carbonara has NO cream or parsley and we don't use pancetta and parmigiano we use guanciale and pecorino, I think this looks great, but it's not carbonara
did you keep the fat from the bacon in the skillet? would it make a difference if i strain some out?
I just made this using smoked dried tomatoes instead of bacon and it is great! Thank you so much! 😊
