This week Jamie heads off the beaten track to the breathtaking, but little-known, region of Basilicata in search of some seriously old-school Italian recipes. He meets a family of shepherds who still cook as their ancestors did hundreds of years ago. Then, over a roaring campfire, he gives a Sunday roast an Italian spin, with his leg of lamb with herby stuffing and roast potatoes with sticky onions, before being put through his paces by an 89-year-old macaroni master and cooking up a simple spicy sausage and sweet pepper pasta.

Fantastic! I thought my 20 years of cooking pasta was almost there, but learning more is a bliss. Thank you.
Grande Jamie che apprezzi la nostra cucina povera italiana ,che un grande chef si mette a trovare nuove pietanze è una grande prova di umiltà
İm watching this while making foccacia. Am i in heaven??
I’m in awe with this whole series of Italian cooking….thanks Jamie
Gennaro! Hedgehog is riccio! Porcospino is porcupine
I absolutely adore jamie, his chef friend, and nonio. The closest I can get to Ialian cooking is Olive Garden rest., us a. If fact, ate there today for my birthday, had chicken picata.
Loved this video! TY to you Jamie & your friend ! Wish I was sitting by that campfire at the end ! That’s such a beautiful way to enjoy nature , good company & delicious healthy local food! ❤️
The acting really sucks. The Italian guy never even smiles. So forced…
Jamie – You're really Italian, right? Come On!!!!!!!!!!!
This show makes me very emotional and I cry with almost every episode at the sheer beauty, love and passion they put in their food. How they lacked shoes, but never food. Never go to sleep hungry, never get left wanting for seconds, I love this philosophy and it is the most important thing for me
This idea is wonderful. Old women and kitchen.
I think the visual of seeing freshly grated horseradish browned with breadcrumbs will stay with me forever. It's freezing December here in MN but I know what I'll be making next summer when my little horseradish patch grows to its glory.
I absolutely adore Ginarro’s accent 😃👌🏼😄 Lovveee it! Love this series ….Fantastico Amore
La nonna è fantastica ! (4:10) 💘
