How to Make Tiramisu!! Classic Italian Dessert Recipe (VIDEO)
Learn how to make tiramisu, the classic Italian dessert! Layers of a decadent mascarpone cheese mixture and lady fingers soaked in espresso and Kahlua. Dessert doesn’t get any better than this!!
What you’ll need:
6 oz water
2 rounded tsp instant espresso powder
50mL Kahlua
6 large egg yolks
1 cup white sugar
2 Tbsp milk
1 1/2 cups heavy whipping cream
1 tsp vanilla extract
8 oz mascarpone cheese
(2) 3.5oz boxes Lady Finger cookies
unsweetened cocoa powder
In a small bowl, bring water to a boil and add in espresso powder. Whisk until dissolved and add in Kahlua. Set aside to cool.
In a double boiler or bain marie, combine egg yolks, sugar and milk. While whisking constantly, cook for 8-10 minutes to cook the egg yolks. Mixture should be smooth but not all sugar will dissolve. This is okay. Set aside and let cool. Once cool, transfer to a large bowl and add in room temperature mascarpone cheese. Mix well until smooth.
In a stand mixer or large bowl with a hand mixer, combine heavy cream and vanilla and mix on medium-high speed until a stiff whipped cream is made. Be careful as to not mix too long or you’ll get butter. Add to cooled egg and mascarpone mixture and fold gently to incorporate.
To assemble the tiramisu, dunk lady fingers into espresso mixture for 2-3 seconds and line the bottom of a 9″x9″ baking dish with them. Spread half of mascarpone mixture on top, repeat another layer of soaked lady fingers and then spread remainder of mascarpone mixture on top. Cover and refrigerate for AT LEAST 8 hours! It’s best to let sit 24-48 hours. To serve, slice and plate and dust the top with unsweetened cocoa powder. Makes 9 servings. Enjoy!!
Can i change kahlua with rum instead?
This is not tiramisu
khabib time
What can I substitute kahlua for please? I can’t have it.
This was NOT information I needed. Sweet Mother of Abraham Lincoln!!! This is my all time favorite dessert. Looks amazing.
This is not authentic Tiramisu..we use real espresso coffee…we don't heat eggs and mix sugar..we do it off heat..and we don't use whipped cream..we use beat peaked egg whites…procedure is ok though…
Im gonna try this tomorrow but right now I want to eat whole monitor
Is heavy whipping cream the type of cream that you sweeten?
You speak alot…. Boring
This is a DELICIOUS tiramisu recipe! I’ve Mase made it once and it was fantastic. I am now making another! He hardest part is the waiting, but it’s SO WORTH IT😋
Took me than 20mins to get that egg and sugar mixture to thicken up. And the water in the boiler was boiling
Lost me at 2:11
Tried this recipe. Turned out perfect. Did not use mascarpone. Jusr regular cream cheese. It was just fantastic. It all depends upon how well you beat n fluf up the heavy cream ..then add the cream cheese. I also added 4 egg yolks instead of 6. Thanks for the recipe.
I am very much living the good life myself from great drugs and big Elaborate Parties some of them i make for our troops… to fine Desserts but i call Bullshit on this video i am half Italia half German and my Italian grandmother said this video was ridiculous and the narrator talked like a Goddamn Faggot plus with in Annoying voice.
Haaa….Cool Whip and cream cheese makes that modern American stuff
Hi everyone, I was watching this video because I was in the middle of making my tiramisu filling and found my egg yolk and sugar mixture not dissolving. I was making a pretty large cake and had 8 egg yolks with 2 cups of sugar in my bowl (as the recipe instructed) over a hot water bath and even after 10 min of mixing it wasn't doing anything. I ended up pouring about 1 cup of heavy whipping cream and it dissolved after mixing for about 5 minutes. My cake was saved! I couldn't find any info online how to fix that mess, so thought I would share my experience.
Great recipe! In case someone decide not to add kahlua, add 50ml more water. Don’t be running out of coffee for ladyfingers as I am right now.
Turned out delicccccciouuuss!!
The original recipe is even more easy than this… All you need is strong black coffee (espresso is the best) , 4/6 eggs (yolk + white egg, you will need to whip it with an electric whisk until it becomes white and spongy) , sugar, savoiardi (the biscuits, lady finger or how you call them) mascarpone, cacao powder. And that's it…. Quite simple 😉👌
Thank you so much for this video. I made exactly the same except for the kahlua because i don't have that so i just used rum. I made this for our Christmas eve and it was a hit! While i was making this my husband said that he is not a fan of tiramisu and he said that he will not try it but come dessert time, i gave him a small slice and he liked it! And he asked for another slice and another slice hahaha..and he said that is the best tiramisu ever! And so from now on, this will always be my tiramisu!! Thank you so much again and God bless you!
