INGREDIENTS:

400 gr (14 Oz) of white flour
1 tablespoon of instant yiest
3 full eggs + 1 yolk
70 gr (2.5 Oz) of melted butter
40 gr (1.4 Oz) of sugar
15 gr (1.4 Oz) of aniseed liqueur (or limoncello or any other flavored liqueur you like and that it makes sense)

RECIPE:

Grate the Orange skin.
In a bowl mix the flour the instant yiest. After add eggs, butter and liqueur.
Mix everything with the hands. When is getting solid, move it to the table and keep working till your hands are clean from any piece of dough and it does not stick anymore. (TIP: If needed add little bit of flour, density might be affected by the size of the eggs)

Wrap in a plastic film the dough and let it rest in the fridge for at least 30 minutes.

After slice it and work it with the hands to make small balls of 1 cm of diameter. Let the struffoli dry a bit if too wet on a cloth.

Fry the balls into peanut oil till they get golden.

After having them fried, put the honey into a pan and mix it with the golden balls at low fire.

Put everything into a plate, and once it cooled down put the decorations (otherwise they will melt).

Eat with the hands and lick your fingers 😉
