Tip: for more digestible garlic, remove it's central piece, it could cause stomach ache and acid reflux if you have a delicate stomach
(we italians call it "anima", i don't know how you call it tho). You don't actually need all that basil and i suggest you to always rinse it with fresh water, than break the basil leaves with your hands in small pieces (never cut basil with a knife, that's for any recipe because once the basil is cut it oxidizes very quickly, takes on a decidedly bitter taste and loses most of its essential oils
), also put it in the pan near the 8th minute and for a good reason: temperatures above 50–60 degrees make its taste bitter
, especially in recipes where you use a lot of it; basil is best served "a crudo" (raw/not cooked).
You can use half an onion and add leeks if you want to give this dish more consistency and a nice flavor, or simply add the leeks.
Sorry for those mean comments you recived below bro, I apologize for them. You know, for me this recipe is also an heresy, but anyone is free to cook as they like. Also the trick about this dish and what makes it actually interesting is that you can cook it because all the ingredients you use need only 10 minutes to be ready to eat; that's clever.
