I had never heard of this chicken and noodle dish before, but it seemed like an odd concoction yet simple meal. I tasted this on several occasions when his mother would invite me over for dinner. I thought was okay, but I could not understand why this was his favorite. It just didn't have the same effect on me. I suppose this dish brings him comfort. I'll admit he suggested that I get the recipe from his mother so I could also make it for him. She uses the crock pot, but her recipe calls for bone-in chicken, sauteed onion, sauteed garlic, dried herbs, egg noodles of course, canned crushed tomatoes. Her version was heavier on the dried herbs (rosemary, oregano, thyme, basil, parsley) which he loved, as well as the broth from the chicken flavored the noodles and sauce while it cooked. I guess your version is much quicker but just as flavorful. Thx 4 sharing!
